Holistic Care for Every Child
Six core programs designed to meet the physical, medical, educational, and spiritual needs of abandoned and orphaned children in Iganga, Uganda.
More Than a Home — A Whole Life
At Faith Babies Home, we don't just provide shelter. We care for the whole child — feeding them, treating their medical needs, educating them, tracing their families, and nurturing their faith. Every program exists because a child needs it.
Food & Nutrition
Every child at Faith Babies Home receives three nutritious meals a day, plus formula and specialised feeding for infants. Many of the children who arrive at our door are malnourished or underweight — our feeding program is often the very first step in their recovery.
We provide nutritional support for children with medical conditions that require special diets, and we work to ensure that food is available consistently, even when supplies run low. Food is one of our most urgent and recurring needs.
When you give toward our food program, you are not just filling a plate — you are giving a child the strength to grow, learn, and heal.
- Three meals daily for all children and staff
- Formula and specialised feeding for infants
- Nutritional recovery for malnourished children
- Special diets for children with medical needs
- Emergency food provisions when supplies are low
Shelter & Safety
Faith Babies Home provides a safe, loving home environment for children who have been abandoned or removed from unsafe situations. Our home is more than a building — it is a place where children are known by name, cared for by consistent caregivers, and protected from harm.
We maintain a family-like atmosphere with house parents and caregivers who live alongside the children, providing the stability and routine that children need to heal. Children who have experienced trauma need more than a bed — they need predictability, warmth, and someone who shows up every day.
Our home is a place of belonging. For many of our children, it is the first stable home they have ever known.
- Safe, family-like home environment
- Consistent caregivers who know each child by name
- Protection from abuse, neglect, and exploitation
- Stable routines that promote healing and trust
- Age-appropriate supervision and care 24/7
Medical Care
Many of the children in our care arrive with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or delicate medical conditions. We provide access to medical care, medication, and ongoing treatment — often in partnership with local clinics and hospitals.
Partner organisations such as Son Mission help supply basic medical needs, including medical supplies and equipment. Our staff are trained to monitor each child's health and respond quickly when medical attention is needed.
For children with ongoing conditions, we ensure consistent access to medication and follow-up care. No child is turned away because their medical needs are complex.
- Access to medical care and treatment
- Ongoing medication for chronic conditions
- Medical supplies from partner organisations
- Health monitoring by trained staff
- Referrals to hospitals and specialists when needed
Education
Education is one of the most powerful tools we can give a child. Our children attend Faith Children's Home Nursery and Primary School in Nabikoote, Iganga — a school linked to the wider ministry — where they receive early learning and primary education.
We also provide homework support, Bible story books for Sunday school, and developmental play for younger children. Education helps our children build a future beyond their circumstances.
For children who arrive behind in their schooling, we provide extra support to help them catch up. Every child deserves the chance to learn.
- Early learning and nursery education
- Primary school at Faith Children's Home School, Nabikoote
- Homework support and tutoring
- Bible story books and Sunday school materials
- Developmental play for younger children
Family Tracing & Reunification
We believe every child deserves a family. Where possible, our team works meticulously to trace relatives and reunite children with their families. This process involves social workers, local authorities, and careful assessment to ensure the child's safety.
Reunification is not rushed. We assess each family situation carefully, provide support where needed, and only proceed when it is safe for the child. When reunification is not possible, we provide permanent care within our home.
For many children, however, no family can ever be found. For those children, Faith Babies Home becomes their permanent home — and we become their family.
- Social work to trace relatives and family members
- Safe reunification where family is found
- Coordination with government social workers
- Careful assessment of family situations
- Permanent care when no family exists
Spiritual Nurture
As an evangelical Christian ministry, we teach children about the love of Jesus Christ and nurture them in the Christian faith. Our children attend Sunday school at Iganga Baptist Church, where they learn Bible stories and grow in their understanding of God's love.
Bible story books have been a valuable resource for our Sunday school program, and we have shared them with other churches to help train teachers and reach more children.
We believe that spiritual nurture is not an add-on — it is at the heart of who we are. Every child is welcomed in Jesus' name, and every day includes prayer, Bible teaching, and the modelling of Christ-like love.
- Sunday school at Iganga Baptist Church
- Bible story books for children
- Evening devotionals and prayer
- Training other churches to use Bible materials
- Christian caregivers who model Christ's love
